Xantolis tomentosa


Common name is Hairy Xantolis, in Marathi Kombhal. It is a small evergreen tree between 3-5 meters in height. Leaves are simple, alternate, elliptic, velvet and hairy, shining above and pale beneath. Flowers are yellowish, white and form a cluster very similar to the Mahua flowers. It flowers between December and February. It is found all over the hill station – Matheran.
